About Us
Sydenham Lake Canoe Club is a part of the Eastern Ontario Division of Canoe Kayak Ontario. It is a volunteer-run non-profit sprint racing canoe club that runs both a competitive and recreational canoe kayak programs. It is located 20 km north of Kingston on beautiful Sydenham Lake.

Day Camp Paddling Instructor (1 positions)
Responsibilities:
Instruct SLCC paddling skills and techniques to children age 6-13 in a small day camp setting in a fun creative and systematic manner;
Plan, organize and execute creative and creative age-appropriate outdoor activities in an inclusive safe environment;
Supervise participants at all times while on water and on land;
Work as a team with other instructors to achieve common goals;
Complete paddler achievement checklist;
Follow the club’s policies regarding safe sport, fair play, inclusivity, diversity and equity;
Serve as a positive youth role model/mentor to promote mental and physical health
Skills & Job Requirements
ORCA Level 1 Flatwater or extensive canoe paddling/tripping experience
Be willing to complete a one-day Canoe Kayak Canada Canoe Kids Instructor and/or online Boaters’ License course, if you don’t already have these certifications
Provide a clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check(fi over the age of 18) and complete an online Safe Sport course
Minimum level 10 (preferably higher) swimming ability & basic first aid certification and CPR
Be between the age of 16-30 and eligible to work in Canada
July 4th-Aug 19th 37.5 hours per week(no weekend hours required).
Must have Bronze Medallion or Bronze Cross
Salary depends on certification and experience
